Willis-Knighton Joins Lawsuit

June 14, 2011

Willis-Knighton Health System has intervened in the lawsuit filed by Shreveport attorney John Settle that seeks to determine requirements for the construction of a connection road to Flournoy Lucas Road as requested by Bossier City developer and city councilman Tim Larkin.

In joining the suit, Willis-Knighton alleges that it and its affiliate, The Oaks of Louisiana (multifaith retirement community) at 600 East Flournoy Lucas Road, will be damaged by any negative actions that prevent the extension of Louisiana Highway 3132 to the south.

The health system indicates it is taking this action not only to protect its investment at the Oaks of Louisiana but to reinforce its concern for the safety of residents and employees at The Oaks of Louisiana as well as the citizens in southeast Shreveport who travel Flournoy Lucas Road and Highway 3132.
